The Berkshire Mountain Search and Rescue Team  was created in 1977 by a group of dedicated people to fill a need in Berkshire County and the State of Massachusetts. At that time, there was no organization in the county, trained in modern search techniques and management . In the last 30+ years we have participated in 100's of searches for missing people throughout Massachusetts and the surrounding states.

BMSAR is an all volunteer, not-for-profit Search and Rescue Team, based in Pittsfield MA. We are available 24 hours a day for missing person searches in Western Massachusetts and the surrounding area. The team can provide trained search and rescue personnel, K-9 search teams, search management and other related resources, free of charge.
